Valve has announced that the Steam Deck, its portable computer gaming handheld, will be delayed by two months. The first units will now begin shipping in February 2022, instead of its planned December 2021 release date. In a blog post Valve cited the global supply chain issues and material shortages as reasons for the delay. These issues have affected many consumer devices from other game consoles to cars and more.

The Nintendo Switch has broken records left and right since its launch in 2017, and it's continuing to do so. The hybrid console now has the title of 'longest-running console without a replacement' in Nintendo's history, going for 2,688 days and counting. The NES had a run of 2,686 days but the Super Nintendo was launched in the 90's to overtake it. A successor has not yet been announced, so the Switch will be adding to its record until then. In other news, the original 2D Fallout 3 is now playable thanks to a mod for Fallout 2. The 2D Fallout 3 was never released as development was switched to a 3D perspective. And finally, Analogue has launched another version of its popular Analogue Pocket, this time in all aluminum and sporting a hefty price tag.

Aside from Fortnite and a couple of low-profile free-to-play efforts, there aren’t many games running on Unreal Engine 5 that have actually been released at this point. There have been impressive, official demos like The Matrix Awakens. Unofficial fan projects that imagine what games might look like in cutting-edge tech. The YouTube channel TeaserPlay is one such group of creators.

As revealed on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has announced the PlayStation Plus games for November 2022 are Nioh 2, LEGO Harry Potter Collection, and Heavenly Bodies. All three games will be made available at no extra cost to all PlayStation Plus subscribers on November 1. Nioh 2 is the Soulslike sequel released in 2020 that thrusts the player into the supernatural world of Japanese legend, fighting as a samurai imbued with the supernatural Yokai.

Elevator Action Returns S-Tribute is a port of the Sega Saturn version of the cult classic. It’s out on December 1st.

You saw the Captain America: Brave New World trailer, and are probably wondering who actor Giancarlo Esposito is portraying in the film. The Breaking Bad and Mandalorian star was a late addition to the Marvel movie, being cast during reshoots. Brave New World was delayed, which isn’t uncommon these days, but apparently underwent more reshoots and rewrites than most Marvel movies. Neither Esposito nor Marvel Studios have revealed his role in the film, but the Internet has speculated that he might be portraying the SHIELD agent G.W. Bridge. G.W. Bridge made his appearance in X-Force Issue 1, back in 1991. He was originally part of the Six Pack, which was led by Cable - so he has some mutant ties in the comics.

Based on the Marvel Comics characters, Hulu's Hit-Monkey follows a Japanese snow monkey, aided by the ghost of an American assassin, who goes on a killing-spree and becomes the famous “killer of killers.”

Season 2 sees Monkey in New York City where he finds a path to escape his life of killing, while Bryce attempts to repair the damage to those he wronged in life. But what will it cost them to undo the past?

The voice cast includes Leslie Jones, Ally Maki, Cristin Milioti, Olivia Munn, Fred Tatasciore, and Jason Sudeikis.

Co-created and executive produced by Josh Gordon & Will Speck, the second season of Hit-Monkey is produced by 20th Television Animation with animation by Floyd County Productions.

Season 2 of Hit-Monkey will premiere Monday, July 15 on Hulu.

After years of rumors and reports, Rockstar has confirmed it's working on a new Grand Theft Auto game, and said that it's "well underway". IGN reported that GTA 6 - if that is indeed what the game ends up being called - was in development back in 2020, but that it was a long way from release. Further reports pegged the game to arrive in 2024 or 2025.

GTA 5 and GTA Online will be released as upgraded, native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions on March 15. After a delay last year, Rockstar has confirmed that the new-gen editions will arrive soon, bringing "new graphics modes with up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, texture and draw distance upgrades, HDR options and ray-tracing".

Twitter user Cary Golomb got his hands on a Steam Deck and showed side by side comparison on how Value Steam Deck fared in size with gaming's most iconic handheld gaming systems.
